Storm Alert Center The Storm Alert Center has the most up-to-date weather technology available and offers live weather coverage on Facebook and YouTube during significant weather events! With their advanced technology, Chief Forecaster Daniel Wilson and Storm Anchor Keith Richardson know within a 30-mile radius if severe weather is approaching and if there is a developing tornado or tornado within the storm. They are the only weather station in the area with the WX-150 LIVE Storm Tracking System. We know exactly where the storms are, no delays! If the weather radar goes down, their coverage continues!

The Russell County Arts Council In 1984, a group of Russell Countians that were enthusiastic about the arts applied for and received a New Communities Challenge Grant from the Kentucky Arts Council.  The initial goal of the organization was to stimulate cultural enrichment and growth through exposure to drama, music, fine art, and literature. The original venue of the Arts Council was the Old Liberty Play House which was replaced by the Star Theater.  In July 1994, after several years of planning and extensive remodeling, the Star held its Grand Opening as a performing arts theater.  Throughout the year, the Russell County Arts Council produces several theatrical performances at the historic Star Theater, allowing community members to shine as they bring theater to the stage.
